"The Chronicles of Narnia" scribe Ann Peacock has been set to adapt Alice Hoffman's historical novel "The Dovekeepers" for producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey ("The Bible") and CBS.
The story follows four extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada, a mountaintop fortress where the Romans found the last pocket of resistance after they conquered Jerusalem in 70 CE. [Source: Deadline]
David O. Russell
Filmmaker David O. Russell is attached to executive produce an untitled soap for ABC which has been given a 13-episode straight to series order.
The story is described as an upstairs/downstairs soap centered on a private country club. Russell will executive produce and co-wrote the story with Susannah Grant. [Source: The Live Feed]
HBO's new gay dramedy "Looking" pulled in a mere 338,000 viewers for its 10:30pm broadcast on Sunday night, while its repeat pulled in a further 268,000. In comparison, the "Girls" series premiere in 2012 pulled in 872,000 viewers.
It was a rough night for HBO overall. "True Detective" fell in its second week to 1.7 million viewers for the live broadcast, down from 2.3 million for last week's premiere. [Source: Deadline]
Untitled Bill Cosby Project
76-year-old Bill Cosby is reportedly returning to NBC to star in a new family comedy which Tom Werner will produce.
Cosby will play the patriarch of a multigenerational family and the comedy will include his take on marriage and parenting. [Source: The Live Feed]
