Keen on one day seeing Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man interacting with the cast of Marvel Studios' "The Avengers"? The actors and fans want it to happen, but due to the differing rights issues the chances have always been next to nil.
One person who thinks it won't happen is former Marvel Studios exec and "The Amazing Spider-Man" producer Avi Arad. Arad was recently asked about the possibility by Total Film and here's his response:
"I for one don't see the value for us in it. I think we're doing such a good job with the Spider-Man Universe. Spider-Man is arguably the number one character in the world. He shouldn't make a cameo."
Arad does leave the door very slightly open though, saying it would be possible if there were: "a natural alliance for some reason... I cannot talk for Sony."
The question came while they were talking about the various "Spider-Man" spin-off films in the works. Fellow producer Matt Tolmach indicates that just building Spidey's own mini-Marvel Universe is enough at this point in time:
"The practical side of it is, look, how many movies have we just talked about? It's all we can do to build that universe. We're not going beyond that."
Speaking of Spider-Man, three new posters for the film have gone online. Check them out below:
