The CW has scrapped plans to develop its long-gestating Wonder Woman prequel series "Amazon".
Announced late 2012 and undergoing at least one major overhaul, the network was hoping to take the project to pilot for a potential off-cycle pickup. That's not going to happen anymore.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour today, CW president Mark Pedowitz says "We did not go forward with it. It all depends on the script. We were very careful with Arrow and we're being very careful with Flash. These are iconic characters so we're going to be very careful with Wonder Woman. You only get one shot before you get bit."
The network is still moving forward with their adaptation of the DC Comics title "Hourman".
