Universal has just announced release dates for major upcoming animated projects from Illumination Entertainment.

The first is "Despicable Me 3" which plans to "continue the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters — Margo, Edith and Agnes — and the Minions". That film is locked in for a June 30th 2017 release.

The second is a new animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas which is slated for a November 17th 2017 release. Pete Candeland is directing this "newly imagined version of the enduring holiday classic."

The third is an untitled original animated comedy, due sometime in 2016, from "Son of Rambow" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" director Garth Jennings. The only hint of the plot? It's about "courage, competition and carrying a tune".
