WGN America is planning a ten-episode scripted event series based on The Ten Commandments. The Weinstein Company will produce the mini-series which aims to bring a "modern interpretation to each commandment"

Ten different filmmakers will each direct an episode, with the likes of Gus Van Sant ("Milk), Lee Daniels ("The Butler"), Jim Sheridan ("In America") and Wes Craven ("Nightmare on Elm Street") all set.

A fifth name though is a big surprise - "Arrested Development" actor Michael Cera will helm one of the episodes. The other five directors will be announced at a later date.

Each director will use their own creative team, which should result in some wildly differing visions. Bruce Cohen and Bob Weinstein are producing the series.
