The new issue of Entertainment Weekly includes an inside look at the making of David Fincher's "Gone Girl," but in an interesting twist - Fincher himself offered to shoot the cover. The result is this rather stunning, quite creepy shot of Ben Affleck's character cuddling with his dead wife (Rosamund Pike) on an autopsy table.

The film itself follows two out-of-work magazine writers whose marital bliss turns toxic after they leave New York City for the Midwest. When she vanishes on their fifth wedding anniversary, Nick becomes the prime suspect in her murder — though it’s unclear if she actually has been murdered.

Fincher confirms in the article that unlike his very faithful "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" adaptation, the "Gone Girl" adaptation will distinctly differ from the source material. The book's author Gillian Flynn says: "There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I’d spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million LEGO pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie."
