Square Enix Montreal has apparently cancelled its proposed new "Hitman" title for next-gen consoles. A listing on the LinkedIn profile of a senior game designer attached to the project indicates the game was formally cancelled last year.
The project was first announced in late 2011. In mid-2013, the studio announced plans to shift upcoming game production to focus on mobile platforms. The studio is now said to be developing an "unannounced Hitman game" for Android and iOS. [Source: Video Gamer]
Following this morning's announcement of Xbox One selling over three million consoles by the end of 2013, a list came out of the major titles coming to the XB1 in 2014. Conspicuously absent? "Halo 5".
Now, Microsoft PR manager Rob Semsey has responded to fans concerns about the title's non-appearance on the list: "Your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014. Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet." [Source: Cinema Blend]
It has been confirmed that the upcoming "Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition" will NOT be coming to PC. The release has been "designed and rebuilt from the ground up for next-generation consoles" and so "a PC update is not planned." The game comes to PS4 and XB1 on January 28th. [Source: VG247]
A new trailer is out for Zombie Studios' first-person psychological horror title "Daylight." The title hits PC and PS4 exclusively in the first quarter of this year.
