VOTD: Why Modern Movie Poster Art Sucks

They don't make movie posters like they used to. Seriously, movie artwork in the 20th century used often evocative and iconic designs which looked great on college dorm walls. These days though, movie poster design is often a victim of too many approvals, overthought market research, and far too much Photoshop.

A recent video talks about the poor state of current movie artwork and explains everything from the plague of teal-orange and floating heads, to genre-specific templates that have led to the homogenised look of modern one-sheets.
