Yet another cable channel, WGN America, is trying to get into the original scripted drama series racket. The first cab off the rank is Brannon Braga's "Salem," set in 17th century Massachusetts and exploring what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials.

Janet Montgomery plays Mary Sibley, the beautiful, ruthless but vulnerable wife of an ancient, ailing but very wealthy Salem town Selectman. Seth Gabel, Shane West, Ashley Madekwe, Xander Berkeley, Tamzin Merchant and Elise Eberle also star.

The first teaser trailer for the show has now gone online, check it out below. The series is scheduled to premiere sometime next year.

24: Live Another Day
Oscar nominee Judy Davis has joined the twelve-episode miniseries "24: Live Another Day" in a recurring capacity. The miniseries premieres in the Spring.

Davis plays Margo, a "fierce" German arms dealer. She joins the cast which includes Kiefer Sutherland, Kim Raver, William Devane and Mary Lynn Rajskub reprising their roles from earlier seasons. [Source: The Live Feed]

Xbox Entertainment Studios has picked up its first original show, ordering a documentary series from Oscar winner Simon Chinn and Emmy winner Jonathan Chinn. The untitled series will feature a string of original installments exploring the digital revolution.

The series will debut exclusively on Xbox in 2014 starting with a Zak Penn-directed episode about Atari burying millions of unsold "E.T. the Video Game" copies in a small New Mexico town in 1983. Shooting will begin in January. [Source: ]

Mr. Selfridge
ITV have premiered a trailer for the second series of its Jeremy Piven-led department store drama "Mr Selfridge". The new ten-episode block will air early next year, the storyline here set in 1914 as the store celebrates its fifth anniversary. With talk of war in Europe, Selfridge prepares his staff for tough times ahead.
