Fox Searchlight have opted to grant Steve McQueen's "12 Years A Slave" a limited re-release during the height of awards voting season.
The film, currently considered the awards frontrunner, will return to screens in select cities on January 17th following on from its mid-October main theatrical release which saw a $36 million domestic gross, decent money for a prestige picture.
In other exhibition news, Paramount have confirmed that Kenneth Branagh's upcoming "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" will be hitting the BIG big screen, getting a worldwide IMAX release starting on January 17th.
The reboot is inspired, but not directly adapted from, Tom Clancy's book series. In this take, Ryan (Chris Pine) is a CIA agent on the trail of a terrorist plot in Moscow. Kevin Costner, Keira Knightley and Branagh also star.
