"Sons of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter has settled on his first post-Sons project - the violent historical revenge drama "The Bastard Executioner".
The story is said to follow a warrior knight in King Edward III's charge who is broken by the ravages of war and vows to lay down his sword. However, "when that violence finds him again he is forced to pick up the bloodiest sword of all."
Sutter will stay with FX where he has been for over a decade with "The Shield" and 'Sons'. FX has ordered the series to pilot and network CEO John Landgraf says:
"Now he [Sutter] has conceived a deep, provocative and historically precise narrative journey into our Medieval past- and I have no doubt The Bastard Executioner will be another remarkably original and gripping series. We're also thrilled to be in business with Brian Grazer who is one of the most gifted film and television producers in the business."
