The 2014 Golden Globe Nominations: Film

The nominees for the 71st Golden Globe Awards have been announced with "12 Years a Slave" and "American Hustle" dominating proceedings with seven nominations each in the film category.

"Nebraska," "Captain Phillips" and "Gravity" scored four noms, while "Her," "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," "Philomena" and "Inside Llewyn Davis" scored three nominations.

Surprises? Not one nomination for "Lee Daniels' The Butler", no acting nom for James Franco for "Spring Breakers", and no "Before Midnight" screenplay nomination. On the flip side "Rush" scoring noms for film and supporting actor were a welcome surprise. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler host the ceremony which is broadcast on January 12th.
