Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to join David Yates' new take on "Tarzan" at Warner Bros. Pictures. "True Blood" hunk Alexander Skarsgård plays John Clayton III, the 'ape man' who lives in the jungle. Christoph Waltz is already set as the villain.
Jackson was previously linked back in 2012 for the role of George Washington Williams, a Civil War veteran and mercenary who teams up with Tarzan to take out an evil warlord. No word if that's still the case at this point. [Source: Variety]
The Purge 2
Frank Grillo ("The Grey," "Warrior") has scored the lead role of in James DeMonaco's sequel to this year's micro budget hit "The Purge" at Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures.
Details on the storyline of the sequel are unknown, other than it further exploring this world where one night each year people are allowed to commit any crime they want without punishment. [Source: Deadline]
The End of the Tour
Jason Segel and Jesse Eisenberg are set to join James Ponsoldt's "The End of the Tour". Donald Margulies penned the script with filming to begin early next year.
The story follows Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky (Eisenberg) who took a five-day road trip at the tail end of the "Infinite Jest" tour of author David Foster Wallace (Segel). Wallace committed suicide in 2008. [Source: The Wrap]
Ana Coto ("DisCONNECTED"), Vivis Colombetti ("Paranormal Activity 2"), Erin Moriarty ("The Kings of Summer") and Bianca Santos ("The Fosters") are set to join Juliet Snowden and Stiles White's "Ouija" film at Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse Productions. Filming begins this week in Los Angeles
The story concerns a group of friends who use the Ouija board in an attempt to reach out to a recently deceased friend. Instead, they open their lives to a dark force. Olivia Cooke, Daren Kagasoff and Douglas Smith also star. [Source: THR]
