"Safe House" scribe David Guggenheim is in early talks with Sony Pictures to script a third "Bad Boys" movie.
The hope is Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will return to play fast-talking undercover cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett respectively.
Michael Bay directed both the 1995 original and the 2003 sequel, both of which Jerry Bruckheimer produced. While Bruckheimer is onboard, there's no word on Bay's involvement at all at this point.
Guggenheim recently worked for Sony on a new draft of the script for the film adaptation of best-selling video game series "Uncharted".
