Casting Couch: Winslet, Wilson, Preston

"Kate Winslet is in final negotiations to join Cameron Diaz in Nancy Meyers' romantic comedy "Holiday" for Columbia Pictures. Negotiations between the actress and the studio had reached an impasse last week over scheduling conflicts. Those conflicts have been resolved, the studio said. The film marks Meyers' follow-up to the romantic comedy "Something's Gotta Give." "Holiday," which also is written and produced by Meyers, centers on an American woman (Diaz) with man troubles who crosses paths with a British villager (Winslet) with similar problems..." Luke Wilson is in negotiations to star in Prospect Pictures' comedy "Barry Munday," about a womanizer who wakes up sans his "Family Jewels" after an irate father attacks him with a trumpet. Things go from bad to worse for the title character when he learns that he's being sued for paternity by a woman he can't even remember having sex with. Chris D'Arienzo is set to direct and write "Munday," which is based on Frank Turner Hollon's novel "Life Is a Strange Place." Amy Adams is in talks to co-star. Wilson will next be seen in ensemble comedy "The Family Stone"..." (full details)

Kelly Preston has joined Toby Keith in "Angel From Montgomery", to be directed by music video helmer Steven Goldmann. In the drama, Angela Dalton (Preston) is a Miami newscaster who brings her rebel teenage daughter Dixie home to rural Montgomery, Tennessee after a military training accident tragically takes the lives of several town resides, including Angela's younger brothers. Back in Montgomery, Angela reunites with country star Bo Porter (Keith), the father that Dixie has never met.
