"Terminator" Reboot Also Gets A TV Series

Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures, who are producing the upcoming "Terminator" reboot film trilogy, are also developing a TV series to work in conjunction with the new first film due for release in 2015.

Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller ("X-Men: First Class," "Thor") are penning and executive producing the series. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier, who are writing the upcoming film, are also executive producing the series.

The series is said to "follow a critical moment from the original 1984 Terminator movie, taking it in a completely different direction that the film."

The reboot film is expected to be tied to the original 1984 film as well. As both the trilogy and series progress, the two narratives will be designed to ultimately intersect.

Paramount is involved in the films but isn't in the TV series. Megan Ellison, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross will produce both the film and TV series.
