Paramount has obtained rights to remake the French cop saga "36 Quai des Orfevres," with Marc Forster directing and Dean Georgaris writing reports Variety.

The French film, starring Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil as detectives heading plainclothes divisions at Paris police headquarters, centers on the quest to solve a series of armored car robberies with a promotion going to whoever catches the perpetrators.

Forster ("Finding Neverland," "Stay") is in final negotiations to helm the project, which will be set in a major US city.

Thanks to 'Rick'.
