Ahead of the Christmas special of "Doctor Who" and the New Year's Day launch of the third series of "Sherlock," The BBC have unveiled a bunch of new photos from both shows. Check out all of them in the galleries below.
An official synopsis is also out for the 'Who' Xmas special which will air 7.30pm on Christmas Day in the UK, and 9/8c on BBC America in the United States:
"Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe's deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.
In other 'Who' news, it seems the Christmas special may answer one question that a specific episode brought up. The sixth season episode "The God Complex" had a moment in which The Doctor looked into 'Room 11', a room that contained his greatest fear - one which we never saw, though did involve the TARDIS' cloister bell ringing. Both show runner Steven Moffat and star Matt Smith say "Keep watching. We will come back to it... sooner that you think."
