"Fast Five" star Gal Gadot has reportedly landed the role of Wonder Woman in the untitled "Batman vs. Superman" movie.
The film's director Zack Snyder has confirmed that the role is indeed that of Wonder Woman and tells Deadline:
"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."
Whether Godot's character is major part of the action, or just an incidental character, is unknown at this point. Godot beat off competition from Olga Kurylenko and Elodie Yung for the role.
While that's confirmed news, in more speculative reporting Variety hears that Kiwi actor Callan Mulvey ("Zero Dark Thirty," "Captain America: The Winter Soldier") is being eyed for the role of the (unnamed) villain in the film.
Both Lex Luthor and Doomsday have been rumored for the film which appears to be becoming more crowded by the day.
