"Game of Thrones" star Emilia Clarke and "21 Jump Street" actress Brie Larson are said to be the two names left that are vying for the lead role of a young Sarah Connor in the upcoming "Terminator" reboot at Annapurna Pictures.
Alan Taylor ("Thor: The Dark World") is onboard to direct the project, and Paramount and Taylor are reportedly aiming to cast the Sarah Connor role before locking down the John Connor and Kyle Reese roles.
Clarke is said to currently be the front runner, and has had experience working with Taylor on HBO's "Game of Thrones". At last report Tom Hardy was being eyed to play human resistance leader John Connor.
Both casting possibilities have a nice simpatico - Clarke's Thrones co-star Lena Headey played Sarah Connor in the "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" TV series, while Hardy's "The Dark Knight Rises" co-star Christian Bale played John Connor in "Terminator Salvation".
Production aims to begin next year for a July 1st 2015 release.
