Lionsgate is in early talks to produce the young Hillary Clinton biopic "Rodham".
The 2012 Black List script by South Korean screenwriter Young Il Kim is set during the height of the Watergate scandal in the 1970s. At the time, Hillary Rodham was the youngest lawyer chosen for the House Judiciary Committee to Impeach Nixon.
She soon finds herself forced to choose between a destined path to the White House, and her unresolved feelings for former boyfriend and Arkansas law teacher Bill Clinton.
No actress is currently attached despite director James Ponsoldt ("The Spectacular Now") having met with actresses over the summer. Richard Arlook, Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are producing.
That the project is alive is a surprise considering how other recent Hillary-related projects like NBC's mini-series and CNN's documentary all quietly disappeared this past summer.
