Amazon To Deliver By Unmanned Drones

Is this the way of the future?

Amazon has shown off a first glimpse at "Amazon Prime Air", the e-retailers proposed plan for a fleet of unmanned robot delivery aerial drones that can drop purchases at your doorstep within 30 minutes.

The company's founder Jeff Bezos announced the plans on 60 Minutes last night, saying the delivery-by-drone system is still in the early stages.

There's a catch though - packages must weigh less than 2.2kgs (5 pounds) and you have to live within ten miles of an Amazon distribution center. Also the system won't be in place for at least a few years.
