It has been revealed that Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" only garnered its R rating after the filmmaker agreed to trim certain nudity and sex scenes.
Initially it seemed the MPAA was ready to slap an NC-17 on the picture due to the abundance of explicit sex and drug use in the film. Scorsese and Paramount reportedly had several exchanges with the ratings board to discuss was needed to secure an R rating
The recent 179 minute runtime announcement has also been confirmed. The $100+ million drama is currently slated for release on Christmas Day.
