A whole bunch of release date announcements and changes have taken place over at Universal where their early 2015 slate has begun to take shape.
First up, Duncan Jones' film adaptation of the MMORPG "Warcraft" game universe has been pushed back three months. Originally slated for December 18th 2015, it is now set to open March 11th 2016 - a proven weekend for fantasy epics like "300" and "Clash of the Titans".
"The Mummy" reboot has been locked in for an April 22nd 2016 release. At last report Andres Muschietti ("Mama") was in talks to direct the project which shifts the action to the contemporary era and sports new characters.
Legendary's troubled "The Seventh Son" can't catch a break. Shot back in early 2012 and originally slated for a February 2013 release, the movie was pushed back several times and settled on January 2014 before being yanked again. Its new date? A FULL YEAR later than the last one - February 6th 2015.
Michael Mann's untitled cybercrime thriller starring Chris Hemsworth and Viola Davis has been moved from a generic 2014 release to a specific January 16th 2015 release.
Rob Cohen's "The Boy Next Door", starring Jennifer Lopez as a divorcee who hooks up with her new neighbour's teen son, has announced a January 23rd 2015 release.
