Despite numerous problems during production from last minute casting changes to a directorial walkout, the revisionist western "Jane Got a Gun" has scored itself a release date.
Relativity and The Weinstein Company are teaming for the project which is slated to open in U.S. cinemas on August 29th 2014.
Natalie Portman stars as a frontier woman who's built a new life with her husband (Noah Emmerich) after being tormented by the Bishop Boys outlaw gang.
But when her husband gets into a fight with the Boys and their mastermind Colin (Ewan McGregor), Jane is forced to turn to her former fiance (Edgerton) to protect her family.
The production made headlines when director Lynne Ramsay left the project, failing to show up for the first day of shooting which left the producers to scramble to find a replacement.
Gavin O'Connor ultimately took over the helm, but not before a game of casting musical chairs took place with Michael Fassbender, Jude Law and Bradley Cooper all linked and then dropping off the project.
