George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series, and its TV adaptation "Game of Thrones", seem a natural fit for a video game adaptation.
It's a large open world filled with lots of detail, and countless characters to utilise. Plus, a game could show off locations that are too large or too outside of the main narrative to properly realise on screen. So far though, there's only been a few minor games - all of which have scored mixed or poor reviews and are often considered hastily assembled cash-ins.
That might be about to change though as IGN reports that game studio Telltale Games are actively developing a game set in Westoros. The company would not officially comment on the rumor though.
Telltale has had experience in this field, they adapted "Back to the Future" and "Jurassic Park" into games in 2011. Last year though they delivered the episodic "The Walking Dead" game which topped many 'Game of the Year' lists. They recently released the first chapter in their Fables adaptation "The Wolf Among Us" which has scored good notices.
