In Washington DC this past Friday a press conference was held for the upcoming Warner Bros. release "The Visiting", a film based on the Jack Finney novel "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Producer Joel Silver, Actors Nicole Kidman & Daniel Craig, Director Oliver Hirschbiegel and more were present to promote the production which tells the story of a mysterious epidemic that alters the behavior of human beings. Once Kidman's character discovers the epidemic's origin is extraterrestrial she must fight to protect her son who may hold the key to stopping an imminent invasion.

IESB was on hand and learned some key details. 'Visiting' is being shot in DC and Baltimore, the later a key location for the movie - "The third act starts with our heorine leaving for Baltimore because she got the information that her son that she is searching for might be in Baltimore so she goes and the whole ending is going to be in Baltimore" said Hirschbiegel.

"The isn't a remake, this is reinvented using the original source material" says Craig, and all of the people involved see something of a contemporary political allegory within the picture - "Its about fear this movie, and its not that much of a visual effects picture its very smart and I think that what Oliver is doing is telling a really kind of insidious tale that has great resonance for today and it's scary and threatening and an interesting way of telling a science fiction thriller" said Silver.

Finally, on her future projects Kidman says "I have the possiblity of a film with Baz Luhrmann next year and that's it". Expect loads more from the conference including video and audio in full soon up at IESB.

Thanks to 'Robert'.
