"Aussie actress Radha Mitchell is in final talks to join Richard Gere and Claire Danes in "The Flock", Bauer Martinez's thriller being directed by Andrew Lau. The story follows a hypervigilant federal agent (Gere) who is training his young female replacement (Danes). The two must track down a missing girl who might be connected to a paroled sex offender under investigation. The $35 million project is scheduled to begin filming mid-November in New Mexico..." "Focus Features has acquired all North American distribution rights to the family drama "Opal Dreams," the second feature from director Peter Cattaneo since his Oscar-nominated turn helming "The Full Monty." The film is set for release in spring or later. Filmed on location in South Australia, "Dreams" centers on the story of a young girl (Sapphire Boyce) with two imaginary friends. When they "disappear" and she becomes ill, her older brother (Christian Byers) gathers her opal-mining father (Vince Colosimo), mother (Jacqueline McKenzie) and many members of her Australian Outback community to lend her support..." "Oliver Stone's film about the last two people pulled from the rubble of the World Trade Center has been set for release a month before the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Paramount Pictures has scheduled the currently untitled pic for August 11. Studio picked the date in order to avoid the appearance that it was commercially exploiting the disaster. Universal Pictures is also rushing to complete its Sept. 11-themed "Flight 93," which Paul Greengrass will helm.
