Contemporary faith-based films often reside in something of a ghetto, lacking the serious budgets, stars, filmmakers and studio support. Yet, in recent years films like "Fireproof" and "Courageous" have overcome these limitations and become surprise hits.
Now, Sony Pictures is trying one and has brought in some major talent to do it. "Braveheart" scribe and "Secretariat" director Randall Wallace's helms this adaptation of Todd Burpo's best-selling book about a couple whose son Colton claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience.
Greg Kinnear and Kelly Reilly star as the couple in the project, while solid talent like Thomas Haden Church, Margo Martindale and Jacob Vargas have supporting roles.
