Coming off an acclaimed turn in "Blue Caprice," actor Isaiah Washington is set to star in and executive produce the indie drama "Game Time Decision".
Former NFL wide receiver Matthew A. Cherry ("The Last Fall") penned and will direct the picture which deals with concussion-related injuries in professional football players, specifically Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy.
Washington will play a retired professional football player suffering from a degenerative brain disease who attempts to reconnect with his estranged son to warn him about returning to play a game too soon after sustaining a concussion.
Shooting aims to begin next spring. The project announcement comes after last week's news that Ridley Scott is developing a film about the same issue and is currently interviewing writers for the project.
