Out promoting a new perfume fragrance, former child superstars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have revealed in an interview with Women's Wear Daily that they've essentially given up on acting altogether.
The pair are now fashion designers by trade, not to mention incredibly wealthy due to the success of their Dualstar Entertainment company, thus there's no need or desire to return to the industry which made them famous.
"We still feel welcome in the [entertainment] industry, but it's not the one we're in" says Mary-Kate. They also confirm they are currently looking at distribution for the back catalogue of their entertainment work.
Ashley says: "We have a video catalogue of everything we did when we were younger, so we're looking at distribution for that now. That's not being in show business, but it's been fun talking to these people we used to be in business with many, many years ago. But the industries are completely different."
Their last film together was 2004's "New York Minute," though Mary-Kate kept up the occasional acting gigs including a role on Showtime's "Weeds" and key supporting parts in Jonathan Levine's "The Wackness" and 2011's not well-regarded "Beastly" which marks the official last appearance of an Olsen twin on screen.
