Aaron Stanford ("Nikita," "X-Men") and Amanda Schull ("Suits," "Pretty Little Liars") are set to star in the drama pilot based on Terry Gilliam's 1995 feature "12 Monkeys".
Stanford plays Cole, a desperate and haunted man from the near future who travels to the present day to stop the deadly plague from being released upon the world.
Schull plays Cassandra Railly, a brilliant doctor forced to choose between her idyllic life or joining Cole's mission.
The pair take over the roles that Bruce Willis and Madeline Stowe played in the original. Shooting on the series kicks off in November.
Natalie Chaidez is taking over the project as showrunner, while Jeffrey Reiner is set to direct and executive produce.
Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett ("Nikita," "Terra Nova") will pen the script. Charles Roven and Richard Suckle will also produce.
