Back in February 2011, a trailer for a video game briefly became a pop culture phenomenon. The announcement trailer for the then unknown tropical island zombie video game "Dead Island" was a three-minute, nonlinear emotional piece that had many people raving and immediately went viral with well over 12 million views.
As a piece of marketing it was genius, and generated strong sales for the game. Sadly the game itself was nothing like the trailer, a fairly generic zombie title whose only real difference was its tropical setting.
Now, nearly three years on, Machinima has released a live-action remake of the trailer which gives you an idea of what the film version in development at Lionsgate might look like.
