NBC has cancelled its new police procedural "Ironside" and its sitcom "Welcome to the Family".

Its new mid-season drama "Chicago P.D.," a spin-off of "Chicago Fire," will slip into Ironside's now open 10pm Wednesday time slot from January 8th.

Fan favorite comedy "Community" will take over for 'Family,' returning with a one-hour special on Thursday, January 2nd at 8pm.

It will then settle into its regular half-hour 8pm Thursday timeslot the following week, followed by new episodes of "Parks and Recreation" at 8:30pm.

As both "Ironside" and "Welcome to the Family" will be pulled immediately, the holes left in the schedule will be filled in by assorted programming including holiday and music specials, SNL and "Dateline" related specials, and in Family's case some back-to-back "Parks and Recreation" episodes.
