Dwayne Johnson has closed a deal to re-team with his "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" director Brad Peyton for the earthquake disaster feature "San Andreas" at New Line.
Andre Fabrizio, Jeremy Passmore, Chad and Carey Hayes have all worked on the script which is set after a devastating earthquake hits California.
The story centers on a rugged rescue-helicopter pilot (Johnson) making a perilous trip across the state to rescue his estranged daughter.
Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson will produce. Filming is slated to begin April 2014 ahead of a 2015 release.
