Filmmaker Doug Liman ("The Bourne Identity," "Jumper") is in early negotiations to direct the action-thriller "Narco Sub" for 20th Century Fox and Genre Films.
David Guggenheim ("Safe House") penned the script which will deal with the semi-submersible crafts that South American cartels employ to smuggle cocaine into the United States.
Tony Scott was previously attached to direct the film before his death last year. His company Scott Free remains onboard to produce the film, along with Simon Kinberg.
Liman has just wrapped the Tom Cruise sci-fi film "Edge of Tomorrow" at Warner Bros. Pictures.
