Years ago, before even Marvel Studios premiered their successful Phase One run, Warner Brothers set out to launch its own attempt at a DC cinematic universe with George Miller's "Justice League".
The project got quite far along back in 2007 - the major cast members were locked including Armie Hammer (Batman), D.J. Cotrona (Superman), Common (Green Lantern), Adam Brody (The Flash), Megan Gale (Wonder Woman), Hugh Keays-Byrne (Martian Manhunter), Teresa Palmer (Talia al Ghul) and Jay Baruchel (Maxwell Lord).
Millions were also spent on pre-production which got far enough along for full on costume tests and filming was to take place at Fox Studios in Sydney, Australia. A lack of scoring a tax credit then shifted the production's plans to Canada, but the rising budget and the writer's strike took its toll.
The final nail in the coffin was Chris Nolan's "The Dark Knight" which took off to become one of the biggest films of all time. Miller was said to have performed a re-write, but by then it was too late - the production was scrapped.
Now, the script for the project ("Justice League: Mortal") has apparently leaked online by Superhero Movie News who also reviewed it.The basic premise? Batman uses a Skynet-style program and satellite to watch over the other heroes. Said system gets hacked by Maxwell Lord and his OMACs which leads to the heroes turning on one another.
