Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, the filmmakers behind the French international comedy hit "The Intouchables," are re-teaming with that film's star Omar Sy for "Samba" at Quad, Gaumont and Ten Films.
Charlotte Gainsbourg ("Melancholia"), Izia Higelin ("Mauvaise fille") and Tahar Rahim ("A Prophet") also star in the French-language immigration-themed dramedy.
Sy plays an undocumented immigrant, while other story and character details are being kept under wraps.
Nicolas Duval, Yann Zenou and Laurent Zeitoun are set to produce. Filming begins later this month in France for a late 2014 release.
