The producers attached to the "Friday the 13th" franchise are reportedly considering the idea of the next outing of Jason Voorhees to be a found footage movie.
Shock Till You Drop reports that they are actively searching for pitches for a new movie using the found footage format.
The project is back at Paramount now, which has made a fortune on the micro budget "Paranormal Activity" franchise, but Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes is still involved (they produced the 2009 reboot).
It makes sense - very low-budget horror has proven one of the most profitable genres of late with the success of films like "The Purge" and "Insidious".
With this franchise, all you need is guy in a hockey mask, cheap young actors and some film permits to use parkland and forest areas.
