"Fruitvale Station" and "Chronicle" actor Michael B. Jordan is being eyed for a major role in Roland Emmerich's "Independence Day" sequel at 20th Century Fox.
Jordan has not yet received an offer and neither Fox or Emmerich will comment. Official casting announcements aren't expected until later in the year.
Jordan is said to be one of several names rising young actors who have met with Emmerich. Fox executives are said to be most keen on him, while Jordan himself is apparently interested.
It's presently unknown what part the actor is being considered for. The film is currently slated for a July 3rd 2015 release, but could well be pushed to 2016.
