Some shows went early, but the Fall TV season hits full steam this week with the first big clump of shows either premiering or returning last night.
10pm in particular was a major battleground with "The Blacklist," "Hostages," and "Castle" all taking on each other.
Of the two newcomers it was the James Spader-led "Blacklist" that debuted strong and won the hour with a very healthy 12.6 million viewers and a 3.8 rating.
The Bruckheimer-produced "Hostages" on CBS didn't premiere so well, garnering only 7.5 million viewers and a 1.8 rating.
ABC's returning favorite "Castle" came back to 11.5 million viewers and a 2.2 rating, a tad up on last season's premiere (11.1 million/2.1 rating).
Earlier in the night, Fox's "Sleepy Hollow" dipped a bit for its second outing after its very strong debut last week. Yet, the show still managed a solid 8.6 million viewers and 3.1 rating, down only 11% despite the much stronger competition.
