More casting rumors continue to swirl around J.J. Abrams' "Star Wars: Episode VII" this week.
First up, and despite repeated denials from both the actor himself and his reps, the talk of Benedict Cumberbatch appearing as a Sith Lord in the next film will not die.
Latino Review adds that Cumberbatch's deal is only for a small appearance in 'Episode VII' ahead of a larger one in the next two films in the trilogy.
They also say Saoirse Ronan went in to read for a role, though which remains unclear as several female roles remain open at present.
Simon Pegg seemed to has ruled himself out of the film again, telling The Independent: "I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to be in it, to be honest. I think J.J. should cast new faces with no stunt casting. I wouldn’t want to be popped out of (enjoyment of) the film by a knowing cameo. I think it would be great to do it properly."
Meanwhile, in one of the strangest merchandising deals of the y ear, LucasFilm and PetCo are teaming up to deliver a furries delight.
PetCo will release the 'Pet Fans' collection, a range of collars, apparel and "other pet-related accoutrements for the four-legged Jedi in your life". This includes everything you need to humiliate your dog from Chewbacca hoodies, to Princess Leia bun headpieces.
