With "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" being pushed back to 2016, it will be a while before we see the next adventure of Captain Jack Sparrow.
New details about what that adventure might be emerged over at Bleeding Cool today. Though the script is being reworked at present, the film is pretty far along in pre-production so it won't change that much from here on in.
First up, there'll be a new female lead for Sparrow to play off, a woman who will be accused of witchcraft though is actually a scientist.
Actual witches are reportedly a key component of the story here, as is a former British military man turned ghost who is aligned with Barbossa on a revenge mission.
There's also a young man and woman from British farming families who'll be the Bloom/Knightley style characters of this outing, an awkward wedding scene, and a riff on the myth of the Bermuda Triangle. Filming aims to get underway next year.
