Matt Damon has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" in a small and undisclosed role.
Damon's role is said to involve only two weeks of the film's four month shoot, while his scenes will all be done in Iceland.
The news comes as Indian actor Irrfan Khan ("Life of Pi") revealed he had to turn down a major role in the project due to the time commitment.
It also seems that Damon has settled on his directorial debut effort - "The Foreigner" at Paramount and Indian Paintbrush. "Argo" screenwriter Chris Terrio penned the script based on the 2008 New Yorker article "A Murder Foretold".
The true story tale follows a man who is gunned down in the escalating violence in Guatemala, leaving behind a videotape after his death.
The tape implicates the president, his wife, and other close aides in his killing. A special prosecutor is brought in to learn the shocking truth behind the man's murder.
