Filmmaker Cary Fukunaga ("Jane Eyre," "Sin Nombre") is being lined up to direct a film based on the book proposal "Noble Assassin" by Paul Kix that DreamWorks Studios and Anonymous Content have acquired.
The true story tale follows a privileged French aristocrat named Robert de la Rochefoucauld. When the Nazis invaded and imprisoned his father, he fled and joined the British Special Operations Executive.
Trained as a safecracker and killer, he returned to France to help organize the resistance. He blew up train stations and munitions factories, and twice escaped execution.
Fukunaga will also produce the film.
