Four months after signing onboard, British actor Benedict Cumberbatch ("Sherlock," "Star Trek Into Darkness") has pulled out of Guillermo del Toro's "Crimson Peak".
No reason was given for the actor's departure, but it marks the second departure from the project after Emma Stone left in June.
Stone has since been replaced by Mia Wasikowska, and now del Toro is currently seeking a replacement for Cumberbatch.
Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain are still attached to star in the gothic haunted house thriller which begins filming in February.
del Toro directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon.
