"The Exorcist" franchise owner Morgan Creek is reportedly shopping around TV drama series adaptation of the William Peter Blatty novel that inspired William Friedkin's horror classic.
Rising young feature writer Jeremy Slater, who is also penning the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot, wrote the script for the project which reportedly has drawn the interest of broadcast and cable networks.
Roy Lee ("The Departed," "The Ring") is slated to executive produce. Slater's take on the material is said to be quite different to the limited series version by scribe Sean Durkin that Morgan Creek was shopping around last year.
Friedkin's original film turns 40 this year.
