After several months and multiple rounds, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" won the award of "Game of the Generation" as voted by Amazon UK users.

The sizeable poll of users were asked to nominate the best console video games of the current generation. The top 16 then began an elimination tournament with the highly acclaimed "Skyrim" topping the list after several rounds.

"Skyrim" just came in ahead of Naughty Dog's recently released champion "The Last of Us," their most acclaimed earlier effort "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" and Rockstar's beloved western "Red Dead Redemption".

The other twelve nominees include "Bioshock," "Portal 2," "Fallout III," "Grand Theft Auto IV," "Mass Effect 2," "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare," "Super Mario Galaxy," "Far Cry 3," "Bioshock Infinite," "The Walking Dead" and "Metal Gear Solid 4". "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood" reportedly just missed the Top 16 by one vote.
