Writer Josh Friedman ("War of the Worlds," "The Black Dahlia") has come onboard James Cameron's "Avatar" sequel to help with the project's script.
Cameron has been in New Zealand for many months at work on the script for the follow up to the 2009 worldwide hit. Fox has slated the film for release at Christmas 2015.
There's also two bits of irony here. The first is that Friedman served as executive producer on TV's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," the show based on Cameron's film franchise but one that Cameron himself was not involved with.
The second is that Friedman recently ended his relationship with Fox back in March, the same studio that he's suddenly now working for again with the "Avatar" sequel.
