Showtime's acclaimed drama series "Homeland" is taking a chance with its upcoming third season - by keeping its star off screen for at least the first two episodes.
At the TCA panel for the show yesterday, it was confirmed that Damian Lewis' Brody character won't appear in the new season's first two hours.
Co-showrunner Alex Gansa says the decision was made because "it's about where the story was taking us". In fact it's not sure when the character returns in the new season, but said return sounds like it will be a key moment.
The producers also responded with the word "sure" when asked if we can expected shocking major character deaths this season.
The series returns September 29th and a graphics-only trailer for it has gone online below:
